Nogramix

Spring Forest

The first world of Nogramix, and the one every player begins in. A carved wooden board stands in a painted woodland under hanging lanterns; the Nonogram you are solving is cut into its surface, with the clue gutters engraved along the top and side. Mist drifts, pollen catches the light, and nothing hurries you.

The place

Spring Forest is built around the Sacred Tree. Its light is early morning — cool air, low sun through leaves, lantern warmth held close to the board. The scene is painted artwork with moving atmosphere layered over it rather than a flat background, so the board reads as an object standing in a place, not a panel floating on an image.

There is no menu clutter while you play. The screen holds the forest, the board, the puzzle title, a timer you can ignore, and four controls: fill, mark, undo and hint.

What you will find here

40 hand-designed puzzles across 8 chapters, each ending in a picture that belongs to the world — a sprout, a lantern, a bird, the tree itself. Finished pictures collect in your gallery, so the world fills in as you solve.

  • Beginning

Cool air. A single shoot wakes.

    5 puzzles · 5×5

One new idea per puzzle: a full row, then marking, then a column, then two separated blocks. 5×5 boards, no pressure.

  • Sprout

The first leaves learn the light.

    5 puzzles · 5×5

Still 5×5, a little richer. Pond, stem, bud, seed, then dew — no size jump yet.

  • First Field

The board grows. The picture stays kind.

    5 puzzles · 10×10

The first 10×10s. A sunburst, a cloud, a stone, then a cat and a boat.

  • Bloom

    Color finds the meadow.

    5 puzzles · 10×10

The meadow opens and so do the grids. A gate and petals, then a tree, cairn, and the first light search across a bridge.

  • Meadow

Petals open. The path still holds.

    5 puzzles · 10×10

Meadow pictures. A nest and hillside, then a house, rabbit, and mountain.

  • Garden

    Paths remember careful feet.

    5 puzzles · 10×10

Garden paths. A butterfly and windmill, then a bird, a well, and a thicker vine.

  • Forest

    Lanterns keep the quiet path.

    5 puzzles · 15×15

Deep forest. A beacon, then crown, bower, fox, and star.

  • Canopy

The grove lifts its last light.

    5 puzzles · 15×15

The canopy. Fawn, willow, crest, lantern, and the last Spring gate.

How the puzzles fit the world

The chapters are a teaching curve as much as a journey. The first puzzles introduce a single technique each — one full row, one full column, marking empty cells, two separated blocks — and later chapters assume you can read a clue line and look for overlaps without prompting. If you have never solved a Nonogram, start with how to play Nonograms; it takes about a minute and covers everything Spring Forest expects.

Playing Spring Forest

  • Free, and playable as a guest — no account needed to begin.
  • No timer working against you and no streaks to lose.
  • Undo is unlimited; a hint reveals one proven cell when a line refuses to give.
  • Progress is saved on your device and syncs if you later link an account.
